It doesn’t matter how fast we run or what we do, we can’t change the long term plan of God, nor is there any need to.
Sue Abbott is married to Stephen, and has three adult children. She has happily supported her husband through his theological study and his work in Sydney Anglican Churches. She delights in hospitality ministry, and is now travelling around Australia with Stephen in their retirement teaching the Everyday Evangelism.
One of Sue’s favourite Bible passages is Psalm 46:10 “Be Still and know that I am God.” She says, “It is a great reminder that I am not in control and that my striving or becoming anxious about something won’t change things. It’s a very great comfort to remember that God is the Lord of all and I can rest in Him in any circumstance. It’s when I’m “still” that I can get perspective and can be assured God will work out His purposes.”
